GROUP HOME PROGRAM
Group Care Program: The Solstice House group care program is available to male and female youth between the ages of 15 and 17. This program attends to the needs of youth who may have experienced emotional, mental health and behavioural distress in their homes, within their family unit and/or within their community. Youth who are eligible for this program will have status with Child and Family Services and will have identified needs that exceed the resources of a foster care placement but who no longer require on-going treatment in a residential treatment facility. These youth will have exhausted all other placement options. There are five beds available in the group care part of the program. Independent Living Preparation Program: The independent living preparation program will provide a home and services to two youth 16-18 years of age. These youth will have graduated from the group care program or from an alternate residential or foster care placement to a self-contained two person suite located on the lower level of the facility. These youth will have demonstrated that they are sufficiently mature to successfully participate but still require consistently available guidance/support before being suitable for independent living. Youth will be chosen to occupy the suite based on appropriate referrals and by successfully completing an interview process. These services are available to children and youth who are receiving services through the Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act. For more information or to make a referral, contact the Solstice House @ 342-2285. Who We Are | Our Programs | Get Involved | Events | Our Locations | Home |
